Maruva Trust is a UK registered charity. It's primary aim is to improve the lives of children and young people living with HIV through the development of appropriate care and support services.
Increasing access to antiretroviral drugs is transforming the lives of HIV positive children around the world. With appropriate management and treatment, children born with HIV are becoming stronger and growing up through adolescence. However, starting on this treatment is only the beginning of a very long journey for children living with HIV. They may be physically stronger but they face considerable psychological and social challenges as a result of their HIV status.
If children living with HIV are to enjoy happy, fulfilled lives, they need to learn essential skills which will help them to understand their HIV status, to access appropriate care and support services, to manage their treatment and to pursue their hopes and dreams for their future. Appropriate psychosocial support services can help children to develop these skills and confidence.
Maruva Trust’s current primary role is to support the work of Zvandiri in Zimbabwe who are providing children, adolescents and young people with peer counsellors to assure health, happiness and hope.
There are a number of ways to help Maruva Trust in delivering its various programmes. The simplest for many is the giving of financial gift. This may be in the form of a one-off donation, a regular monthly payment, or an online fundraising page for a fundraising event you may be involved in. Please read below for more details.
Cash gifts are always welcome. Remember, if you are a UK tax payer, we can claim back an extra 28% from the government to really maximise your gift. You can also set up a regular payment. A simple donation of as little as £5 a month can make a huge difference.

When I was told I was HIV positive, I thought noonewould want to hug me or touch me. Then I joined one of Zvandiri’s support groups and I know I am loved, I am just like anyone else and that having HIV does not mean that I am going to die.

Most people say when times are hard, wait for the storm to pass. Well, Zvandiri has taught me to dance in the storm.
